Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Thandiswa Marawu, will unveil 30 new vehicles for traffic officers during the official launch of the Provincial Arrive Alive Campaign in Mthatha on Friday.
Department spokesperson, Ncedo Kumbaca says this forms part of intensifying the 2012 Easter Campaign.
He says these vehicles will assist in the intensification of "Operation Asihleki", which is the Provincial Campaign that contributes to the implementation of the National Rolling Enforcement Plan.
Kumbaca says each officer is expected to stop and check a minimum of 15 vehicles per eight-hour shift.
