A representative of the AbaThembu Royal Council says a successor to jailed king Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo has been chosen.
However, prince Phandulwazi Mhlontlo Dalindyebo would not give the successor’s name.
This emerged after Saturday's meeting at Bumbane Great Place outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
Dalindyebo, who exhausted all legal appeals and who failed with a last-minute petition to the justice minister, begun serving a 12-year jail sentence in the Wellington Prison outside Mthatha last week, Wednesday.
He was jailed for assault, kidnapping, and arson - crimes he meted out on his subjects in the 1990's
