Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Advocate Michael Masutha, will officially open the newly-built Plettenberg Bay Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The long-awaited state-of-the-art court, situated in New Horizon township, was officially proclaimed by Masutha on March 1 2019.
The court building which is set to provide services to the community of Kwa-Nokuthula, New Horizons and surrounding areas in Plettenberg Bay will deal with criminal cases, civil matters and also has a fully fledged courtroom for sexual offences cases.
Local South African National Civic Organization (Sanco) welcomed the initiative and called on all members to utilise it. "It's a service on our doorstep".
SANCO leader Monwa Fuzile called on locals to utilise this new court as they don't have to travel to get to court anymore.
