The matter was reported to Despatch police who arrested the traffic officer.

Nelson Mandela Bay spokesperson, Roland Williams, says family ties do not matter.
"The fact of the matter is that a traffic official has been arrested by SAPS. We must allow them space and time to conduct their investigations. In that regard, we will as a municipality will co-operate fully. We do not condone any form of bribery and corruption. Having said that we must presume a person to be innocent until proven otherwise" he said.
