Nelson Mandela Bay launches tourism application


PORT ELIZABETH, November 22 (ANA) – Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism on Tuesday, announced that it spent R35,000 on a travel application aimed at making it easier for tourists and locals to move and learn about the city.

During the launch at Donkin Reserve, the Chief Executive Officer of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Mandlakazi Skefile said the application was meant to make life easier for people choosing the city as a holiday destination.

“The applications is meant to be a tour guide in your pocket and an easy way to get around the city and learn about key sights,” Skefile said.

The application can be downloaded on all smart phones and provides information including local events, emergency numbers and audio of various historical points around the city.

“It’s a one-stop shop of information for events and things to do.”

Skefile urged people to consider Nelson Mandela Nay as a holiday destination and move on from the typical destinations like Cape Town and Durban.

“Our beaches are blue flag beaches, we have ocean safaris and an abundance of Marine life including largest breading of African penguins,” she said.
