Residents of Nelson Mandela Bay will be in for a treat this weekend, when two navy vessels, including a submarine, come to town.
Ships Mine Hunter, SAS Umhloti and the submarine SAS Charlotte Maxeke arrive in the city on Friday and will spend the weekend in port.
Navy spokesperson, captain André de Wet, says the purpose of the visit is to promote an effective maritime capability and to maintain a mutual understanding between "the peoples navy" and the community of Port Elizabeth.
He says members of the public will be able to view the two vessels on Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 3pm.
Entrance to the harbour will be via Flemming Street and no bags or cameras will be allowed.
