The 32-year-old Mozambican woman, who was arrested by the Hawks earlier this month for kidnapping a three-year old child, has been sentenced to 20 years in jail by the Mdtanstane Magistrate's Court in East London.
Sindiswa Crescentia Ntshukane was arrested in Gauteng and charged with kidnapping the three year-old girl from her Mdantsane home in August.
The girl was found unharmed a few days later in Johannesburg and re-united with her relieved family in East London.
Ntsukane, who pleaded guilty to three counts, including kidnapping, illegal entry to the country and an extortion attempt for money, will appeal her sentence on the 27 of next month.
The State prosecutor says she won't succeed her appeal.
