Police in Swartkops have released the names of the two adults who died in a single-vehicle accident on the N2 near Colchester on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says it is alleged that the driver of a Grey Nissan Tida travelling towards Gqeberha tried to overtake another vehicle when he lost control of his car.
The 35-year-old driver and a 5-year-old child sustained critical injuries and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital.
Beetge says two adults were declared dead on the scene.
He says their ages are not known at this stage but they were identified as David Fourie and Bridgette de Grass.
He says a 3-year-old girl survived the accident with moderate injuries.
