Buffalo City municipality says Nahoon beach will remain closed for several days following a sewerage spill over the weekend.
The spill also forced organisors of a junior national surfing competition to move the event to Gonubie beach.
Buffalo City spokesperson, Thandy Matebese, said on Monday that problem has been neutralised but Nahoon beach will be closed for bathing until the problem clears.
He estimates it could be around 3 days.
"In the recent past we have experienced overloading of the sewer system and this is due to illegal storm water entering into the system and this caused the spillage we had. Wee have since sealed the leak and the system would clear within the next few days" Matebese said.
