The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a man who was last seen climbing a fence at a wedding venue in Kariega appears to be deepening.
Twenty-Five-year-old Tour-Guide, Roysten Kruger, who is registered at the Department of Tourism in the Western Cape, was driving a group of people from Beaufort West to a church event at the Hexagon wedding venue in Kariega over the weekend when he mysteriously vanished.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says when church members got ready to depart on Sunday they realised that Kruger was missing and the Pastor raised the alarm with local police.
She says it was then established that Kruger was last seen on Saturday climbing over a fence at the venue.
Captain Swart says Kruger's phone is switched off and his wallet and personal belongings were left behind.
She says the matter was only brought to the attention of Kariega Saps on Monday who then sent a group of detectives to the scene.
The area received quite a bit of rain over the weekend and therefore there were no tracks to follow nor any of Kruger's belongings that could have been given to the K9 Unit to pick up his scent.
Swart says Kruger's family opened up a missing person report on Tuesday and detectives from both provinces are now working together to find him.
Anyone with information about Kruger's whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer, André Lombard on 083 448 3169 or 041 996 3438.
