Murderers of Cookhouse farmer still at large

Eastern Cape police are still searching for the suspects who murdered an elderly farmer on his farm Bassonsberg in the Cookhouse Area on Thursday evening.

Police captain Stefanie Smith says 71-year old Jonathan Stefanus Troskie's body was discovered by his son.

Troskie's 72-year old wife was assaulted during the attack and is still being treated at a Port Elizabeth hospital.

Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana, condemned the murder and attack on Troskie's wife and said Police would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The suspects fled with several firearms in the couple's Toyota Camry.

Both the vehicle and fire arms were abandoned by the suspects and were found by police not far from the crime scene.
