Police are investigating a case of murder and opened an inquest docket after a 52-year-old man shot and killed a Department of Public Works employee then committed suicide in Humansdorp.
Police spokesperson, Sgt. Majola Nkohli, said Rudolf Meiring allegedly stormed into an office in Station Street and shot 56-year-old, Christian Crouse several times on Wednesday.
Nkohli said Meiring then shot himself and died at the scene.
A woman who was with Crouse in his office time, fled the building.
A revolver was found at the scene.
Nkhohli says the motive for the murder and suicide is not yet known.
