Grahamstown police say a murder charge was added to the docket, after the death of two people at Rhodes University on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender says the body of a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head was found next to that of a 21-year-old woman in a room at the Cullen Bowles residence.
Initially, the police were baffled, as the student had no signs of wounds on her body.
Govender says after further investigation, a gunshot wound was found on her upper body.
Both victims were apparently from King Williams Town.
