Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, says they're appealing to the municipality and private contractors to keep out of the area for now.
He says police are investigating cases of arson after a grader and another municipal vehicle were torched by a group of people.
Beetge told Algoa FM News that a third vehicle managed to get away.

"The particular vehicles that were burned is a Caterpillar bulldozer and a pickup truck from the Municipality. One vehicle did manage to get away. We would like to appeal to anybody doing construction work or other business in Motherwell to stay away while we calm the situation" he said
