A multi-disciplinary team from the Eden Cluster has been established to assist Thembalethu detectives with the probe into the murder of the 32-year-old local taxi-owner, Prince Mmola.
Mmola was gunned down on Saturday morning in Liwani Street in Zone 8 in Thembalethu.
Police said he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head after a gunman opened fire through the windscreen of his vehicle.
He was found still seated behind the steering wheel of his Isuzu Bakkie.
The suspect fled while being pursued by by-standers but got into a waiting getaway car and sped off.
Anyone who may have information that can assist the police probe should contact Thembalethu Police.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the motive for the murder is under investigation.
