Basic Education minister, Angie Motshekga will open the newly completed Nobantu Primary School in the Mthatha district in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.
The school forms a part of the first batch of 49 mud schools, identified and planned for replacement, through a Service Delivery Agreement with the Development Bank of Southern Africa - as part of the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Development Initiative.
The opening of the newly built school follows the official handover of schools in Libode and Lusikisiki by President Jacob Zuma and Minister Motshekga earlier, as part of government's commitment to eradicate inappropriately built structures in the Eastern Cape.
