Protesters from Gunguluza have taken to the streets again disrupting traffic on the Rocklands Road outside Kariega.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says two cars were damaged after it was pelted with stones and glass bottles.
He says police reacted by using rubber bullets to disperse the group and arrested one man who will be charged with public violence.
Beetge says the situation remains tense and police will monitor the situation.
Motorists are urged to make use of alternative routes for their own safety.
On Thursday protesters set alight a bus and two vehicles and also tried to uproot a lamp pole that eventually fell on top of a man.
Thirty-eight-year-old Nkosinathi Lukas, a local from the area, died on the scene.
