Port Elizabeth police are asking for the public's assistance after a young child was dropped off at the Mount Road police station on Thursday morning
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a woman driving from East London to Port Elizabeth found the child, believed to be between 2 and 3 years old,helplessly wandering around in the Nanaga area.
Van Rensburg says the woman pulled over and the sobbing young boy ran into her arms.
He was taken to Mount Road police station were he was given a bath and fresh clothing before been taken to a place of safety.
