One person has been killed following a head-on collision on the N2 at the Gouritz River Bridge on Monday night.
A spokesperson for Provincial Traffic in the Western Cape Kenny Africa says a truck and Volkswagen vehicle collided head-on.
He says both vehicles burnt out and the driver of the car was burnt beyond recognition.
The N2 in both directions had to be closed for several hours until the scene was cleared.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
