A Chinese national who was kidnapped in Gqeberha last week was released last night after an undisclosed ransom was paid.
Runny Henry, 31, was kidnapped from his family business in North End last Friday, at around 09:00.
His kidnapping came less than two months after his Mother, 50, was kidnapped from the same place.
Henry's kidnappers made a ransom demand less than 30 minutes after he was snatched.
Hawks spokesperson, Yolisa Mgolodela confirmed that he was released at 11:39 p.m. on Wednesday near Kariega.
He is said to have been released unharmed.
Mgolodela would not be drawn into commenting on the ransom amount.
A reliable source however told Algoa FM News that a ransom demand of more than R1m had been made, but that this amount was dropped significantly.
When Henry's mother was kidnapped in February, gunmen shoved her into an Audi.
She was held captive for 24 hours before she managed to escape from her attackers in Motherwell.
Speaking from her business premises on Thursday, his mother declined to comment about the saga.
She did however mention that her ordeal had seemingly placed a target on her son.
The woman, who declined to give her name to the press questioned every client visiting the premises and kept the gate locked.
It is unclear whether the same kidnappers are involved.
