Mossel Bay teacher in court on sexual assault charges

A teacher, who occupies a senior post at a local high school in Mossel Bay, will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate Court on Monday on a charge of sexual assualt.

The 57 year-old teacher was arrested last Thursday by members of the Mossel bay family Violence and Child protection unit.

The suspect has been in custody since Thursday and he is expected to apply for bail at his court appearance.

The police are investigating a charge of sexual assualt, in which a 15 year old school boy is involved.

It is alleged that the victim was a learner at the local school at the time of the sexual assualt which took place in early September this year on the school premises.
