A 41-year-old man made a brief court appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old boy.
The businessman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly hitting the child with his fists at the shop that he owns in Adriaans Avenue near Kwanonqaba.
Police said it's alleged that the man was angry at the child for leaving a tap open at the premises that he shares with the child’s father.
The man was released on warning and the matter postponed to 28 April for further investigation.
