The 34-year-old man accused of axing to death his girlfriend, Naledi Phangindawo, abandoned his bid for bail in the Mosselbay Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Mlondi Ntlangulela is charged with the brutal murder of 25-year-old Naledi, who was hacked to death with a knife and axe outside traditional ceremony in KwaNonqaba earlier this month.
Eyewitnesses told police that he called the mother of his children out of a traditional ceremony and without warning brutally attacked her.
Ntalngulela fled the scene but handed himself over to the Lwandile Police Station in Cape Town a day later.
The Western Cape's National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, said that his case was postponed to 8 July.
