A two year old girl was admitted to a Mossel Bay Hospital with multiple injuries, after she was brutally assaulted by her father.
The Mossel Bay Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offenses unit is investigating a case of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm. The incident happened this past Saturday evening when the father of the girl allegedly hit her with a leather belt in her face.
She was allegedly also burned with a warm object over her neck and over parts of her body. The mother of the child was also assaulted.
The 21-year old suspect is currently in the Da Gamaskop Holding Cells and will appear in court on Wednesday.
