A Mossel Bay couple accused of defrauding hundreds of people out of millions made another appearance in the George Regional Court on Wednesday.
The defense team called its last witness in the trial of Graeme and Carolina Minne who have been charged with fraud involving a staggering R280m.
The state alleges that they stole from hundreds of investors in Mossel Bay and surrounding areas and even as far afield as Kempton Park.
It was further alleged that than 500 people invested their money in a type of pyramid scheme on the promise that their money would be traded on the international market.
The Minne’s allegedly also promised interest on the investments of up to 65% per year.
The case against the Minne’s was postponed to April 24 for judgment.
They are out on bail of R10 000.
