Mossel Bay commuters left stranded on Monday

Mossel Bay commuters were left stranded on Monday after the taxi associations decided to halt operations.

This follows a weekend of tension between taxi drivers and officials in Mossel Bay who impounded several vehicles and arrested some drivers on Friday.

Taxis were impounded for contravening traffic regulations after which taxi owners blocked Louis Fourie Road.

Taxi associations said they will not be operating on Monday to show solidarity for those arrested.
