Mossel Bay police have warned residents and visitors to be vigilant following five armed robberies at the popular Diaz Beach.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Pieter Koekemoer, said these incidents took place in broad daylight during last week.
He said the suspects used the same modus operandi by threatening people with knives before robbing them of their cellphones and wallets.
Meanwhile, police said more than 5 000 people were arrested in the Garden Route since the start of the Safer Festive Season campaign that started in October.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie said they also confiscated and destroyed more than a ton of dagga worth an estimated R4m in the George area.
