The Eastern Cape Provincial Traffic Department, in conjunction with NMBM Metro Police in Gqeberha clamped down on drunken drivers over the long weekend.
It says 101 motorists were arrested by midnight on Saturday.
The drivers were arrested in the Alfred Nzo, Amathole, Chris Hani, O.R.Tambo and Sarah Baartman District Municipalities.
Most were arrested in O.R.Tambo (29) in Tsolo , Qumbu, Port St Johns and Lusikisiki.
The Department says these arrests send a clear message that provincial Traffic Authorities are geared and ready for the Easter period in April.
It says zero tolerance will be shown to offenders on Eastern Cape roads.
