The Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie will officially hand over the newly renovated Gelvandale swimming pool in Gqeberha on Saturday.
The Department says it is a significant investment in community sports infrastructure made possible through funding from the Municipal Infrastructure Grant.
It says it will create opportunities for youth development, active lifestyles, and social cohesion.
The Department says it continues to implement critical infrastructure projects nationwide, focusing on developing multi-purpose sports facilities that promote inclusive participation at a community level.
"Every community deserves safe, world-class facilities where young people can develop their talents, stay active, and dream big. This is more than a swimming pool - it’s an investment in the future of our youth and a testament to our commitment to inclusive sports development," said McKenzie.
