Eastern Cape police have confirmed that three more devices, including a mortar bomb, were found in the Strelitzia Dam in Uitenhage.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana, said the devices were found on Saturday by some children playing at the dam.
He said, fortunately, an adult was on hand to warn the children about them and alerted police.
Last October a total of 19 devices were recovered from the dam.
The origins of the mortar bombs remains a mystery but police said at the time that they were very old and not of South African origin.
Kinana said on Monday that arrangements were being made for a meeting between critical security stakeholders to discuss this issue and the continued recoveries of these devices from the dam.
"We're warning the public, especially children, to be cautious around the Strelitzia Dam until a decision is made," he said.
