A teenage girl who was reported missing in the Sedgefield area in the Garden Route, has been found unharmed.
Captain Malcolm Pojie says the 15-year old girl from Durban is safe.
The teenager was on holiday with family from Johannesburg, and was last seen getting into an SUV late on Sunday evening.
Pojie says they had been informed that her boyfriend arrived from Durban, and took her back with him.
He has urged the public to make sure about the facts before reporting a suspected crime.
"Initial reports stated that she went missing from the holiday report just to found out that 24 hours later the 20 year old Boyfriend picked her up and she is back in Durban. So many police resources were utilised for the search unneccesary and it could have been used for a real emergency" he said
