The fifth lion which escaped from a Mossel Bay game reserve has been found dead.
This was confirmed late Thursday afternoon by Justin Lawrence of Cape Nature, who said they had assisted in an advisory capacity in the search for five lions which got out of the Gondwana Game Reserve this week.
He said Cape Nature will be investigating the escape and will be working closely with Gondwana to ensure this does not happen again in future.
Earlier, reserve general manager, Neil Davison, said that the other four lions that got out were safely back on the reserve.
