Missing man from Wilderness found murdered- four arrested

Four suspects will be charged with murder after police found the body of a missing father of three in George on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old victim, Gideon Mativo from Wilderness went missing two weeks ago after he left his home to pay a worker at his jewellery stall at the Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre.
Mativo's car was found two days after he went missing in an open field near Thembalethu. His vehicle was stripped of all four tyres and partially burned.

Police arrested four suspects shortly after the car was found.

The suspects between the ages of 18 and 24 were found in possession of parts stripped off Mativo's vehicle.

One suspect pointed out Mativo's body to police on Tuesday.

He was found in a ditch on the outskirts of Thembalethu with multiple stab wounds to his body. The men will appear in the George Magistrates court on Friday.
