Algoa FM officially started broadcasting to the George-Knysna-Mossel Bay region on Thursday, December 1, 2011.
The whole day-time team were at Freedom Park in the centre of George from six in the morning to seven that evening “to give the community the opportunity to meet our presenters, producers and the team that supports them,” said Algoa FM managing director Dave Tiltmann.
Local celebrities who were interviewed on the Morning Show included Elvis Blue, Barry Richards as well as Esther Watson, the event director of the Outeniqua Wheelchair Challenge.
The Morning Team also spoke to pupils from local schools, while the “Hit Squad” handed out promotional items.
The Algoa FM Vibe, with presenter Kaycee Rossouw, topped off the celebrations by embarking on a four-day road show visiting Knysna, George, Mossel Bay and Sedgefield
