Local events company Soul Good was appointed at the 11th hour on Tuesday night to run the annual Splash Festival in Port Elizabeth.
The Splash Festival is supposed to start on Friday, giving the company exactly two days to put the event together.
Soul Good Director Darren Mungur is confident they'll be able to put together a top-class event for the Metro.
"We are extremely confident that we can. This morning I have a team coming down to Port Elizabeth from around the country a team that we have worked with over the last 3 years that will ensure that we have the Splash Festival ready in time and that we will deliver a product that our city can be proud of"
Mungur says Splash will be no-different to previous years and will boast a full programme of activities.
"There are basically four components, we are looking at the water sports component which is being managed by our partners at the Hobie Beach Surf Live saving club. We then have the the entertainment we have secured two national artists and we will break that in the press conference later today. We have the stalls being run by community chest and a world class fireworks display that will happen on Saturday evening" he said.
