Men looking for scrap metal cause millions of damage in EL

East London police say a group of men forraging for scrap metal have caused more than a million rand's damage to the city's water pipes.
Police captain Mluleki Mbi says five men who were arrested on Tuesday are due to appear in court on Thursday.
He says they were arrested as they entered a Wilsonia scrap metal dealership with two bakkie loads of illegal cast iron.
Mbi says police received a tip-off about a group of people digging around the water pipes which connect Buffalo River and Mzonyana Water Works in Wilsonia.
