Men arrested for attempting to shoot PE traffic officer

Two Port Elizabeth men have been arrested for allegedly attempting to shoot at a traffic officer.
Police said the incident happened in Kempston Road on Sunday when the traffic officer chased after the men who were driving recklessly.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says after the men crashed their Honda Ballade, they jumped out and attempted to fire at the traffic officer, who retaliated by firing back.
Police arrived and the two, aged 32 and 34, were arrested and two firearms seized.They will appear in court soon on a charge of attempted murder and two cases of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
