The bodies of two men, aged 19 and 25, were found in Tsolo in the Eastern Cape on Monday morning after they were allegedly assaulted in a mob justice incident.
Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-general Liziwe Ntshinga says it is alleged that the pair were taken from their homesteads by a group of local people who accused them of stock theft.
She says police will never tolerate the acts of people taking the law into their own hands.
Ntshinga said that the police were doing their best to combat stock theft in the province.
No arrests have been made.
