A memorial service will be held in Mossel Bay on Thursday for a Grade 11 learner from Point High School who died after she crashed her motorcycle on her way to school.
The 18-year-old Nicci Da Silva was riding on Louis Fourie Road early on Wednesday, the 4th of May when she crashed into her 16-year-old brother’s motorcycle, right in front of her.
It is alleged that her brother reduced speed after a vehicle driving in front of him braked to turn into the Mossel Bay Magistrates Court entrance.
Da Silva was transported to a nearby hospital with multiple injuries and died later in the afternoon.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
Meanwhile, residents in Mossel Bay have started a petition to close the entrance to the Mossel Bay Magistrates Court on Louis Fourie Road where the accident happened.
