Three men accused of the murder of 30-year-old horserider Meghan Cremer are expected to apply for bail in the Athlone Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Cremer went missing on August 3, and after an extensive search, her body was found at a sand mine in Philippi, Cape Town on August 8. She was fully clothed and a rope had been tied around her neck. It is still unclear whether she was sexually assaulted.
Jeremy Sias, 27, Charles Daniels, 39, and Shiraaz Jaftha, 34, were found in possession of Cremer's white Toyota Auris and have been charged with her murder.
The men's second court appearance on Thursday saw dozens of female protesters gathered outside to demand they be refused bail.
Chanting "no bail" and brandishing placards, the women called for unity to make a difference in the fight against gender violence.
Cremer, who went to school in Knysna, also studied at Rhodes University in Makhanda.
