Mossel Bay has its own celebrity shark.
According to Dan Abbott from White Shark Africa, they started to recognize certain sharks that stay in the area for longer.
One such sharks is the 3.8 metre female great white shark, nicknamed Blackgill, who he says has been hanging around the waters of Mossel Bay for the longest period.
Abbott says Blackgill is special and will give boat viewers a spectacular show when she lunges out of the water.
He says sharks use the waters of Mossel Bay as a kind of nursery ground, giving smaller sharks a chance to bulk up before heading to larger seal colonies, such as Dyer Island in Gansbaai, or Seal Island in False Bay, to hunt.
