Acting Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Pemmy Majodina will accompany the families of the victims of Wednesday's bus accident, in which seven people were killed, to the government mortuary in Queenstown, where they will officially identify their loved ones.
The accident happened early on Wednesday morning on the N6 between Komani and Jamestown.
The 22 seater bus, from the Eastern Cape Health Department, was transporting patients from Sterkspruit to East London's Frere Hospital, when it overturned - killing five people instantly, including the driver and a minor.
Two other people later died at the Frontier Hospital in Queenstown.
The news of the accident broke while MEC Majodina was in the O.R. Tambo District to launch the department's 2017 Festive Season Road Safety Campaign.
