Eastern Cape Local Government MEC, Mlibo Qoboshiyane, says he's aware that many protests are being planned where communities are either seeking new municipalities or want to be incorporated in other municipalities.
This week Qoboshiyane met communities in Sterkspruit and Dordrecht where the demarcation issues was top of the agenda.
Qoboshiyane has called on communities and municipalities to talk to each to address service delivery issues.
He also says a worrying feature of recents protests is the fact that many of them have been organised by teachers and principals using school children as the mainstay of their actions.
Qoboshiyane he does not believe that establishing new municipalities will resolve the legitimate issues of the communities.
