Port Elizabeth musician Ian McLaggan will know his fate on Friday.
That's when Grahamstown High Court judge Glen Goosen is expected to pass sentence, after he convicted Mclaggan last month of raping a teenage British tourist at Shamwari Game Reserve in 2010.
State prosecutor Nicky Turner called on judge Goosen to impose a sentence of 12 years while defence advocate Terry Price said a sentence of between three and six years would be appropriate.
