The Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements, Nonkqubela Pieters, will hand over title deeds to 267 beneficiaries in the Matatiele Local Municipality on Monday.
This follows Premier Oscar Mabuyane's recent service delivery visit to the Alfred Nzo District Municipality.
The Department, together with the Matatiele Local Municipality, have undertaken a verification process to ensure the rightful beneficiaries receive their title deeds.
The recipients all benefitted from the Matatiele 306 housing project.
In the last financial year, the Department has managed to issue 647 title deeds for the pre-1994 category and 4 781 title deeds for post-1994 to beneficiaries.
A total of 1 873 title deeds were also transferred.
