Eastern Cape police said a team of seasoned detectives are hunting for the suspects involved in a shooting in Willowvale that left four people dead.
Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said the shooting occurred in Mente Location on Wednesday night.
She said according to information a headman and his siblings were making their way to the town’s central business district when two vehicles approached from different directions.
They allegedly stopped the vehicle the headman was in, and gunshots were heard.
Mawisa said the bodies of the four men, aged between 34 and 59, were inside the vehicle on a riverbank.
“The motive for the shooting is unclear at the moment and will form part of the continuing investigation by the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Investigation Unit,” she said.
