The Provincial Gang Investigation unit is investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting in Bethelsdorp, Port Elizabeth.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the incident took place in Ext 32 on Saturday night.
Naidu said a the 25-year-old complainant and a friend were walking in Eucomus Street at around 8pm.
She said they were approached by three men who opened fire.
Naidu said the victim was hit several times in the upper body
She said his friend escaped unscathed.
The search for the gunmen is underway.
