Buffalo City District Police Commissioner, Major General Henry Vos, has welcomed the sentencing of a young man to an effective 24 years imprisonment for killing his grandmother and uncle in September last year at their home in Mdantsane.
The 25-year-old Sive Dubula was sentenced by Judge Hartle of the Bhisho High Court on Thursday to an effective 24 years direct imprisonment for killing his 76-year-old grandmother Kuku Bikitsha.
He was also sentenced to 20 years for raping the elderly woman and to 24 years imprisonment for killing his 59-year-old uncle, Mongezi Bikitsha.
Judge Hartle ruled that the sentences run concurrently, meaning Dubula will serve a total of 24-years behind bars.
