The man who died when he drove his car off a cliff at the Port St Johns Airstrip on Saturday has been identified as a nurse from Lusikisiki.
The Eastern Cape Department of Health in Bhisho says the 32-year-old Zukisa Nkosiyaphantsi was off duty at the time and hanging out with friends when the tragedy occurred.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Kaya Matola-Mvanyashe, said Nkosiyaphantsi and four of his friends were at the cliff taking photographs when the deceased allegedly got into his car and drove off the cliff in the Port St Johns Airstrip last Saturday.
Health MEC Nomakhosazana Meth conveyed her deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
Her spokesperson Mkhululi Ndamase said the deceased worked as a Community Services Nurse at the St Elizabeth Hospital in Lusikisiki since February.
He said Nkosiyaphantsi was the fourth nurse in the Department who died in September.
Three were brutally murdered.
