Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was discovered in an open field close to the fence of the South End Cemetery.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a man walking his dog made the grim discovery just before 7 pm on Thursday.
The 55-year-old man's body already started to decompose and a post mortem will be done to determine the exact cause of death.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says Humewood Detectives attended to the crime scene and the investigation continues.
The victim was identified as Allan Rudd.
Any person with information that can assist in the investigation is urged to contact their nearest SAPS.
